There is more!

In the midst of Israel's greatest spiritual failure, when the people had fashioned a golden calf and God threatened to withdraw His presence, Moses made one of the most audacious requests in Scripture: "Show me your glory" (Exodus 33:18). This wasn't the plea of a desperate man grasping for hope, but the cry of a spiritual leader who understood a profound truth—no matter how much of God we've experienced, there is always more. Moses had already witnessed the burning bush, the ten plagues, the parting of the Red Sea, and received the Law on Mount Sinai. He had spoken with God "face to face, as a friend speaks to a friend." Yet instead of being satisfied with these unprecedented encounters, Moses hungered for deeper revelation. His request reveals that spiritual maturity isn't measured by past experiences but by our continued appetite for more of God's presence in our lives.
The timing of Moses' request is particularly striking. It came immediately after one of the most devastating leadership crises imaginable—watching his people abandon everything they had promised to God while he was on the mountain receiving divine instruction. Any leader might have been tempted to lower expectations, focus on damage control, or simply be grateful that God was still willing to work with such rebellious people. But Moses demonstrates that true spiritual hunger isn't diminished by circumstances or discouraged by setbacks. Instead, he shows us that difficult seasons often create the very conditions where God desires to reveal more of Himself. When our human resources are exhausted and our own strength has failed, we become candidates for experiencing dimensions of God's character and power that we never knew existed. Moses believed that beyond every crisis, every disappointment, and every failure, God had greater depths of His glory waiting to be discovered by those who would seek Him with all their hearts.
This same invitation extends to every believer today. Regardless of where you are in your spiritual journey—whether you're just beginning to know God or you've walked with Him for decades—there is more. More of His love to experience, more of His wisdom to receive, more of His power to witness, and more of His character to discover. The enemy of our souls wants us to believe that we've already seen the best of what God can do, that we should be satisfied with past victories, or that current struggles disqualify us from expecting greater things. But Moses teaches us that spiritual ambition—the holy hunger for more of God—is not presumption but faith. It's recognizing that our infinite God has infinite depths to reveal to finite hearts that are willing to keep seeking. Today, dare to echo Moses' bold request: "Show me your glory." Ask God to reveal more of Himself than you've ever experienced before. Believe that He has more grace for your failures, more strength for your weaknesses, more wisdom for your decisions, and more love for your heart than you've yet discovered. There is always more with God, and He delights in revealing it to those who hunger and thirst for His presence above all else.
